Charm City Fringe Code of Conduct

The following Code of Conduct applies to all Charm City Fringe Board Members, Committee Members, staff members, volunteers, artists, and patrons. For questions regarding the Code of Conduct, please contact HR@charmcityfringe.com.

Care of Equipment & Facilities
Everyone should be concerned with the care and safe use of Charm City Fringe- owned and rented equipment and rented facilities. Cleanliness, care, and pride of ones work space is expected of everyone.

Punctuality
Punctuality to meetings, events, performances, trainings, work or volunteer shifts, is expected. Lateness should be communicated to a relevant supervisor as early as possible.

Cell Phones
During rehearsals, performances, events, and other spaces as dictated, cell phones should be turned off to avoid disruption and provide proper respect to the event and performances.

Anti-Harassment Policy
Charm City Fringe will not tolerate harassment or intimidation of our employees, artists, volunteers and patrons, on any basis prohibited by law, including race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, handicap, disability, marital status, genetic predisposition, sexual orientation or veteran status. Moreover, any suggestions made to any employee/volunteer that sexual favors will affect any term or condition of employment with Charm City Fringe will not be tolerated. It is the policy of that any harassment, including acts creating a hostile work environment or any other discriminatory acts directed against our employees, will result in discipline, up to and including discharge.Charm City Fringe also will not tolerate any such harassment of our employees, volunteers, artists, and patrons by our clients or vendors.

For purposes of this policy, sexual harassment is defined as any type of sexually oriented conduct, whether intentional or not, that is unwelcome and has the purpose or effect of creating a work environment that is hostile, offensive or coercive. The following are examples of conduct that, depending upon the circumstances, may constitute sexual harassment:
- Unwelcome sexual jokes, language, epithets, advances or propositions;
- Written or oral abuse of a sexual nature or otherwise, sexually degrading or vulgar words to describe an individual;
- The display of sexually suggestive objects, pictures, posters or cartoons;
- Unwelcome comments about an individual’s body;
- Asking questions about sexual conduct;
- Unwelcome touching, leering, whistling, brushing against the body, or suggestive, insulting or obscene comments or gestures;
- Demanding sexual favors in exchange for favorable reviews, assignments, promotions, compensation increases, or continued employment, or promises of the same.

Whistleblower Policy
Volunteers, employees, and artists of Charm City Fringe must practice honesty and integrity in fulfilling their responsibilities and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. It is the responsibility of all to report any known ethics violations or suspected violations with the Human Resources Manager. If the individual is not comfortable speaking with the Human Resources Manager, they are encouraged to reach out in writing to the Board. No one, in good faith, that reports an ethics violation shall suffer harassment, retaliation, or any adverse consequence. Anyone who retaliates against someone who has reported a violation in good faith is subject to discipline, up to and including termination of relationship. This Whistleblower Policy is intended to encourage and enable individuals to raise serious concerns within Charm City Fringe prior to seeking resolution outside of Charm City Fringe.
