Charm City Fringe Festival celebrates cutting-edge and quirky theater and performing arts throughout 11 days of performances across multiple venues in the Bromo Arts District, September 27th-October 6th.
CCF produces an annual performing arts festival in Baltimore that unites people through art, builds community, provides a place for weird, and empowers artists in producing bold, fun entertainment.
Marketing & Communications Lead Scope of Work
The Charm City Fringe Marketing & Communications Lead plays a leadership role in ensuring the festival runs successfully. The Marketing & Communications Lead oversees the external communications of the festival, development and distribution of marketing collateral including pre-festival advertising content, a festival program booklet, and development and implementation of a social media and outreach campaign. The Marketing & Communications Lead ensures consistent and effective branding of the festival.
The Marketing & Communications Lead reports to the Vice President of the Board of Directors.
This is a paid contractual position that runs from July through October 2024.
Responsibilities
The Marketing & Communications Lead is expected to:
Develop a holistic, multi-channel marketing strategy for the 2024 Fringe Festival, including digital marketing and editorial calendars.
Manage the Marketing budget for the Festival.
Ensure that all communications maintain the Fringe brand and voice across all channels.
Present ideas and final deliverables to the Board of Directors, and communicate with management about marketing programs, strategies, and budgets.
Design and sell Festival brochure advertising packages to local businesses.
Manage a street team of volunteers to promote the festival during Artscape 2024, and/or at other live events.
Coordinate all design and print work with an external design firm including an annual visual campaign and Festival brochure.
Responsible for dynamic content creation for website, email, and social media channels, providing comprehensive analytics and analysis.
Management of marketing campaigns including web, SEO/SEM, email, social media and print/display advertising to deliver positive ROI.
Implementation of the communications and marketing strategy for the Festival and related events (i.e. Fringe After Dark).
Social media account coordination including Facebook, Instagram, and Google Adwords for Festival and related events.
Coordinate documentation (video, photo) of the Festival with Festival Director.
Project management of Festival and artist printed and digital marketing materials.
Lite graphic design for social media and digital marketing applications.
Manage festival webpages, including all images, tools, content, and sales.
Attend first weekend of Festival and share on social media to generate ticket sales for 2nd weekend.
Contribute to annual debrief process and marketing evaluation.
Archive all press coverage and collateral for the 2024 Festival.
All festival contractors are expected to:
Complete an end-of-festival staff survey to receive and provide feedback on festival staff.
Attend a festival debrief meeting sometime in November - December to discuss your experience at the festival.
Deliver a high level of service delivery to Artists/Presenter and Venue.
Participate in regular meetings to ensure deliverables are on track.
Embrace the CCF Values in all areas of work.
Foster the development of positive and communicative working relationships across all delivery areas
Qualifications
At least 3-5 years of marketing experience
Experience in theater, event or festival production and marketing
Familiarity with event ticketing software,google suite, Squarespace and Mailchimp
Must be organized, good at troubleshooting and creative problem solving
Positive attitude, motivated, flexible, and willingness to step in where needed
Committed to abide to Organization Handbook and enforce it as necessary within the venue
Fringe experience a plus!
Slack and Asana familiarity a plus!
Compensation
This contractual position is paid at $35 per hour with an expectation of approximately 250-300 hours in total. Contractors are expected to invoice for their work on a biweekly basis.
This position is not eligible for overtime.
